Street Style: Guests of the 61st Venice Biennale Private Previews
The professional press days of the Venice Biennale, held from May 6 to 8, proved to be a test of endurance for culture enthusiasts.
Political scandals surrounding the event, protests that escalated into clashes with police, and the Biennale management’s tolerance of Russia—an aggressor state currently under European Union sanctions—inevitably heightened the cognitive load of an already intense program.
Yet, even through the lens of intellectual and emotional tension, it was impossible to ignore the striking looks of the guests who filled the locations from the Giardini and Arsenale to collateral city projects. We have selected several of the most distinctive street style shots from the private previews that capture the spirit of this year’s event.
